About Us - Runnymede Dementia Carers Support

Caring is hard enough, but there is no need to do it alone; we support each other, we laugh, we cry.

Who we are

Dementia Carers Support has been set up as a registered charity to support you and your loved one.

We provide opportunities for carers and their loved one to have a social life together, and with others. Something which is often difficult due to the nature of this illness.

Our groups are open to anyone in Runnymede and the surrounding areas.

WHAT WE DO

Our informal groups, give carers of those with dementia the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation, with the comfort that their loved ones are being supported too.

Whilst your loved one is enjoying the activities overseen by our volunteers, you are able to relax with a cup of tea, and share the company of others who understand the problems caring for a dementia sufferer brings.

Our clubs are for you and your loved one to be able to spend social time together which is so difficult due to the nature of the illness.

Thank you Rivermede Court Care Home, in Egham. for a wonderful afternoon with some of our Dementia Carers and their Loved Ones. A lovely BBQ, entertainer singing away, the staff amazing, rushing around looking after everyone in the heat. Thank you so much for the invitation to join you all.

Had a wonderful meet up with my great ole friend, who was my great amazing right hand at THE 3 B’s CLUB when I was Chair. And Criss also our taxi driver for the Club. If any one out there remembers it. My late husband John Dyble who had Dementia was there for 5 years. He died in 2003. So if any one remembers Chris Dickie, who retired and returned to her homeland in Scotland many years ago, Chris says Hello. Amazing meal again at La Casa, in Weybridge. Our favourite place for our meet up. Also Chris’s great Maureen who has now moved into a wonderful new apartment in Addlestone. Miss you sooo much my dear Chris, but always on the end of a phone bless you. Frances xxxxxx.

Brilliant weekend away with many of our Club Members at Warners Sinah Warren, Hayling Island. Weather perfect. A wonderful fun weekend. No ‘washing up’ for us ladies!!! Thank you Janine for all the great pitches.

A Great Big Thank you to VOLUNTARY SUPPORT NORTH SURRY. Chertsey Branch. Who all work tirelessly supporting us all in Runnymede. Thank you Jo Buckell for the amazing Easter Eggs collection again this Year for all our local groups. These are donated from local Companies.
